Luminary Cloud, a pioneer in realtime engineering, is entering its next phase of growth with a strategic leadership transition. Pete Schlampp, an experienced technology executive with a strong track record of scaling companies, will be stepping in as CEO and take over from co-founder Jason Lango.
Over the past five years, Lango and co-founder Juan Alonso have led the team at Luminary Cloud in building a modern CFD software platform from the ground up; one that is distinguished by being more accessible, producing faster insights, and ultimately enabling better product designs.
The company officially launched out of stealth in March 2024 to eager anticipation in the CFD community and widespread media attention. Most significantly, Luminary attracted innovative customers such as Joby, Piper, and Sceye in the aerospace industry; Trek and Cobra Golf in the sporting industry, and Mueller Co. and Welbilt in the industrial manufacturing industry, to name a few.

Luminary Cloud is poised for rapid growth and the next level of trajectory. Looking ahead, leadership will focus on several key initiatives critical to the company’s expansion. These include scaling operations to support a growing customer base and strategically identifying new markets for entry. A renewed emphasis on customer success will be a cornerstone of this growth strategy, leveraging the team’s extensive experience working with large customers at various stages of maturity. This transition represents an opportune moment to transform how Luminary Cloud innovates its modern CAE SaaS platform. The combined expertise of the leadership team, including Jason Lango’s continued influence as a board member and advisor, will drive these initiatives forward, ensuring Luminary Cloud’s continued success in revolutionizing the realtime engineering space.
Pete has held leadership roles in four startups, including Platfora which was acquired by Workday. At Workday, he was the Executive Vice President of Product, then Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer. Earlier in his career, he was a product executive at IronPort where he met Lango, and later became a general manager at Cisco after the acquisition of IronPort.
